I joined this forum to thank Grinler in the Spyware and Malware removal forum.

I just experienced my first Rogue program - called "Malware Defence".

This beast looks just like the Windows security programs and tricked one of my kids ( using another kid's laptop ) into installation. Well a a family civil war has been going on all last night and all morning while I fat-finger my way - FINALLY - to this website and Grinler's detailed instructions on how to kill the rogue, download a legit program - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - and scan the laptop. It's been running for 45 minutes now and hopefully this will resolve and we can "all just get along" here at the ranch. I'm exhausted from all this crap - what do these rogue software author's get out of this misery?

If you're reading this and never heard of Malware Defence, I hope you never do .... and if you are a regular reader maybe you can smile knowingly at a rookie's experience in the internet badlands ... and if you are Grinler -

thank you , thank you , thank you

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
