I need a low profile wireless PCI adaptor where the blanking plate is roughly a third of the length of a normal card.

Do all low profile cards have a shorter blanking plate? Is there several standards? What terminology should I type into Google?

It for an old PC World Advent AMD Athlon XP.

Thanks

Sounds like you might have to take it apart and do a little surgery

Hmmm, yes I certainly could do. Bit of a bum, but low profile seems to refer only to the computer board/chip gubbins.

If signal does not improve when we've moved house, then I'll ditch current brandless USB wireless adaptor & reach for the hacksaw.
