Hi- My first post.
I've got a Toshiba laptop running Windows7. I like windows7 a lot actually!

Today, I tried to install a video program. It never seemed to work and hung up on "installing directx plugins". So, I downloaded Directx 11. It still didn't work and so I uninstalled the video trial (Vegas).

Anyway, so now, when I go to use my recording software (Sonar and Cakewalk) it tries to launch and installs it's plugins, but hangs up during launch. I go to Task Mgr and it says it's running, but only at 11,438 bits.

I look further into the TM and it says these programs are running but "Suspended". Not sure why this would be, I can only think of the new Directx thing.

So I tried doing a system restore to before I installed dx11. Still no go.

I CAN get both programs to run in Safe Mode, but it's not practical.

Any ideas what I can do short of an OS reinstall?

Thanks!

I don't know if this will help, but do you have Shark007's codecs?
