I'm doing this for a friend since he's having really bad problems lately.
He thinks he can remember the name of the thing that pop-ed up and he installed it, called Malware Defense.
It installed shortcuts to adult sites and did some other things.
Since then he's been having lots of problems with everything.
He has an Acer Aspire ASE380-ED421A

First of all he told me that he's getting this popup error from seconds apart, to maybe a minute and when doing MANY things.
"The ordinal 650 could not be located in the dynamic link library iertutil.dll."
I've noticed that this error comes from problems with IE8, but he doesn't use IE and doesn't have IE8.
Also when he plugs in his Xbox 360 Controller into his computer he gets an immediate Blue Screen of Death. I'll have the error codes and info for it sometime soon.
EDIT: Now that we were trying to get the info from the Blue Screen of Death it doesn't happen anymore =/

I saw this somewhere before, when I was trying to help him and then he told me about it.
When he goes to search something on Google and then he tries to go to a link it will bring him to the randomist things ever and he has to hit back twice to get to where he was actually going. Also his computer will have random shutoff's.

When I was trying to help with some things, and give him a few programs that may help (MalwareByte's, SUPERAntiSpyWare and such) whenever he clicked the link that I gave him it would pop-up the error that he gets, I tried to upload it to MediaFire then give him the link, same thing. He had to enter it in the address bar on his own.
The one thing that prevented me from helping him was that any attempt to install something would fail to start up. When he passes the 'Allow to run' you get when opening an installer it would do absolutely nothing.

Mmmmmhhh he apparently tried to install MalwareBytes again randomly after I tried to help him and restarting many times and it installed, but it won't run at all when he tries.
Both MalwareBytes and RootRepel cause his computer to just lock up and he has to power it off.

I have the DDS Logs but not the RootRepel cause every time he tried to scan with it, or sometimes open his computer would do a full lock freeze. Also the main drive location is L: as he wanted to keep his old Vista partition C: when I installed XP for him. Thanks tons in advance.

  4. Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  5. Push the button.
  6. Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. I suggest you do this and select Immediate E-Mail notification and click on Proceed. This way you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.
