I'm a casual user of Itunes. It's not my principal player, but I have used it to burn CDs of songs that I purchased at Itunes.

What format are these songs? MP3? WAV?

I usually use a free program called Burrrn to burn CDs from MP3s, Flacs, and WAV files. Bleeping Computer maintains a list of freeware programs <HERE>.
