I am not complaining, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me about how long it might take to get a response on my computer problem? I again am not complaining as I think this forum is a great thing and appreciate everyones help.

Hello,

There isn't a clear-cut answer to that question as there are a lot of variables involved. Please read the following to get a better idea of why and the possible time frame involved.

We work with hundreds of logs every day, so we have devised a means of seeing only those topics that don't have responses yet. At the moment, we have over 600 unanswered topics, the oldest dated Dec. 28, 2009 at 12:54 am Eastern Standard time in the U.S.A. Your HiJack This topic is dated Jan. 5, 2010 at 4:40 PM using the same time zone.

Our volunteer HJT team members have various levels of expertise and training, so while we try to take the oldest DDS/HJT logs, it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, neither of us would want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it.

Please be patient. It may take several days, up to two weeks perhaps less, to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible. I advise checking your topic once a day for responses as the e-mail notification system is unreliable.

You probably were not aware of this, but when you reply to your own log post, it causes confusion because the team members might think that someone else is helping you and pass over it. I have removed your "bump" to avoid this.
Cheers,
John
