For the past few weeks I have been having issues with my Adobe CS3 Programs. They usually crash or stall and I have to turn off my computer/restart. This issue use to happen maybe every 3 weeks or so but now it's been happening more often. I have updated my computer with Microsoft Updates and Adobe Updates. I also perform a virus scan with McAfee once a week. I sometimes wonder if there is a conflict with Microsoft Office 2003/Outlook and the Adobe Creative Suite CS3. I usually have Outlook open all day long and use Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop frequently. I am not sure if I have a virus or if it is just an application conflict. I have tried to re-install Windows XP Professional and my other programs but it still seems to happen. Please let me know what you think.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer! welcome.gif

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

For the past few weeks I have been having issues with my computer programs mainly Adobe Creative Suite 3 and Microsoft Outlook. They usually crash or stall and I have to turn off my computer/restart. This issue use to happen maybe every 3 weeks or so but now it's been happening more often. I have updated my computer with Microsoft Updates and Adobe Updates. I also perform a virus scan with McAfee once a week and I perform Disk Defrag and Disk Cleanup often.

Below I pasted the dds report, HiJackThis and attached the "attach.txt" file. I tried to run RootRepeal but it kept freezing my computer and wouldn't finish the the scan.

Hi bkdesign, welcome to Bleeping Computer smile.gif

Download OTL to your Desktop
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Under the Custom Scan box paste this in

netsvcs
%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
/md5start
eventlog.dll
scecli.dll
netlogon.dll
cngaudit.dll
sceclt.dll
ntelogon.dll
logevent.dll
iaStor.sys
nvstor.sys
atapi.sys
IdeChnDr.sys
viasraid.sys
AGP440.sys
vaxscsi.sys
nvatabus.sys
viamraid.sys
nvata.sys
nvgts.sys
iastorv.sys
ViPrt.sys
eNetHook.dll
ahcix86.sys
KR10N.sys
nvstor32.sys
ahcix86s.sys
nvrd32.sys
/md5stop
%systemroot%\*. /mp /s
CREATERESTOREPOINT
%systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them if you need to start a new topic.

I did run Malwarebytes Anti-Virus yesterday before I ran the OTL Scan and this is what Malwarebytes found:

Registry Data Items Infected:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\AntiVirusDisableNotify (Disabled.SecurityCenter) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\FirewallDisableNotify (Disabled.SecurityCenter) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

I had Malwarebytes delete them and I rebooted and did a quick scan. It didn't find any issues. I did see on the internet that Disabled.SecurityCenter infections can be hard to resolve.

Please let me know what anyone things about the OTL Scan that I performed, they are listed above.

I ran the online ESETScan last night and it found these 2 virus. It’s strange because one of them was a file from a client that I could have sworn I deleted. Anyhow if ESETScan found the virus and quarantined/deleted them does that mean they are gone? Also since it wasn’t on my primary drive could they really relate back to the issues I have with my applications? The C: Drive is my primary drive and the F: Drive is where I have all of my client files and music.

F:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-21-484763869-507921405-839522115-1003\Df19.exe probably a variant of Win32/TrojanDropper.Agent trojan cleaned by deleting - quarantined

F:\Work Folder\Park Manor Suites\Park Manor Website\Park Manor Suites website pages\old\index-Virus.php JS/TrojanDownloader.Small.NAT trojan cleaned by deleting - quarantined

Also are these normal? This is from the hijackthis. I have since deleted the 2 items below from startup. I also deleted another program from starting up Extensis 11 because I was trying to troubleshoot if that program was the issue.

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop
  • Please double-click TFC.exe to run it. (Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator).
  • It will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two. Let it run uninterrupted to completion.
  • Once it's finished it should reboot your machine. If it does not, please manually reboot the machine yourself to ensure a complete clean.

  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<<will be maximized) and info.txt (<<will be minimized)
