The hard drive in my sony vaio computer went corrupt. its a sony vaio vgn ns190j. I got a new hard drive. And I got a retail version of windows vista. When I put in the disk to install it, installation proceeds till the 'Where do you want to install windows' screen. At this point I can see the hard drive listed, and the only options that are clickable are 'Refresh' and 'load driver'. The next button is also disabled.

So how do i install windows vista. Is the computer expecting sata drivers, and if so where do I get them and install them during install of the operating system? I tried getting the drivers from the sony website and installing them using a usb flash drive, but it keeps saying drivers not found on media.

Please help

Go download Ultimate Boot CD and run the free FDISK software. Use that to create a partition.

that should fix the problem!!!
