Hi guys, recently had to reformat PC because it was not booting. However, after reformatting I have had a few "uninstalled drivers" come up in my device manager. I've had to reinstall my nVidia drivers, sound drivers and ethernet drivers etc. etc.

However, I still have 2 devices in "other devices". They both have the exclamation mark by them. They are: SM Bus Controller and Unknown Device.

When trying to use Microsoft to search it returns nothing. Do you know what drivers I need? My comp is a MESH and my motherboard is an Asus P5B-TMX. Thanks!

SM Bus Controller is usually included in the chipset drivers for a system/motherboard.

If you have an Intel system, I believe that Intel make a driver available at its website, http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/cs-013541.htm.

Appears to be a custom board made for MESH, http://www.meshcomputers.com/Default.aspx?...PPORT_LOGIN_VII.

You should have had a drivers CD which would automatically install all drivers associated with this system, I believe.

I don't think I have a drivers disc, or atleast I can't find it.

And because my mesh is quite old my PC isn't "on their system" and so I can't do it through there website.

My chipset is an Intel Lakeport-G i945g. What drivers do I need for this chipset for the SM bus controller.

Also what is the "unknown device"?

You might be able to find out what the unknown device is.

If it does say Unknown, RIGHT click on it to highlight the word Unknown.
Choose UPDATE Driver.

In the screen that opens, select No, not this time, click Next.

The next screen *might* tell you what it is.

If it does, and you feel that you could follow the process to install the driver, do so.

If you are not sure about installing it, post the device name here and someone will try to help you.
