Hi everyone

in these last days i have some troubles with my pc (toshiba tecra - windows xp professional - AV AVG). I guess it's because of a virus.
During the boot appears a popup saying (translation from italian) "There is an error in Google Installer. The application will be closed" and when i check for technical information, this is what i get:

Moreover i used to have av AVG 8.5 but suddently i couldnt start any scan because it said "No active components". So i tried to uninstall it and reinstall it again but now i always get this error message (translation from italian): Installation couldn't end because of file avgwdsvc.exe: starting of service in progress...
The service hasn't answered to the starting or checking request in the estimated time.

Moreover i use ie and firefox browsers but both of them automatically close themselves while i'm on the internet.

Please can anyone help me? Should i use those hijack this or combofix programs to identify the problem?

Thank you
