I see your a Yankees fan. I will help you anyways! :(

Download and Run ComboFix (by sUBs)

You must rename it before saving it.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

Save thcbytes.exe to your Desktop <-- Important!!!
  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Please refer to this link for instructions.

  • Double click on thcbytes.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Posted Image

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply

A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own.
This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper

With your next post please provide:

* Still getting redirected?

I also have malwarebytes, superantispyware , Dr web, root repeal, tfc, gooredfix and eset. Do they also need to be disabled?

I haven't been redirected since Sunday, but spent yesterday scanning. It happened three time in two or three days prior to Sunday.

You a sox fan?

Actually I don't follow much baseball. Was just messing with you from your post in the "Am I Infected Thread". :(

I only need you to disable real time scanners. On demand scanners will not interfere. Go ahead and give the program a run and post the log.

Thanks,

The redirect just popped up again.

It actually popped up on its own. I thought it redirectd from IE, but I'm using mozilla and IE was closed.

Well done. :(
We will find the pesky little bugger.

==========

A quick question.
Did you set this?

==========

Let's take a deeper look.

We need to create an OTL Report
  • Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Under "Extra Registry" please check "Use Safelist" and also check "LOP Check" and "Purity Check" as pictured.Posted Image
  • Copy and Paste the following code into the Posted Image textbox. Do not include the word "Code"

    netsvcs
    msconfig
    safebootminimal
    safebootnetwork
    activex
    drivers32

  • Push Posted Image
  • A report will open. Copy and Paste that report in your next reply.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTListIt.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized
==========

Please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:
  • Main Mirror
    This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
  • Zipped Mirror
    This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
  • Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.

    Posted Image
  • GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)
  • If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system...click NO.
  • Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save... button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.
  • Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.
  • Exit GMER and re-enable all active protection when done.
-- If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode.

==========

With your next post please provide:

* Answer to question
* OTL.txt
* Extra.txt
* Gmer log

Kind regards,
~t

GMER ran for almost 2 1/2 hours. i don't know if it stopped by itself or if the scan was over. It didn't say, so I tried saving it. My computer froze up so I'm going to run it again in safe mode overnight.

I really appreciate your help.

When Boopme sent me to this forum, he said that there were some baddies in my system restore. Should I get rid of them?

No. I will guide you in regards to System Restore when your done. We do not want to purge our restore points until we are sure we are clean. They pose no risk unless we restore to an earlier date. I will guide you later.

Get me the Gmer log and also do this...........

:( Warning: This script was specifically written and designed for this user only. Unsupervised use of this tool could render your computer unbootable permanently!! :(

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/284472/do-i-still-have-a-redirect/

Suspect::[89]
C:\WINDOWS\system32\comsvcs.dll

FileLook::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\comsvcs.dll

SRPeek::
C:\WINDOWS\system32\comsvcs.dll

Folder::
C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Application Data\LimeWire

Save this as CFScript.txt, in the same location as ComboFix.exe

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

==========

Please download SystemLook from one of the links below and save it to your Desktop.
Download Mirror #1
Download Mirror #2
  • Double-click SystemLook.exe to run it.
  • Copy the content of the following codebox into the main textfield:
    :filefind
    *comsvcs.dl*
  • Click the Look button to start the scan.
  • When finished, a notepad window will open with the results of the scan. Please post this log in your next reply.
Note: The log can also be found on your Desktop entitled SystemLook.txt

==========

With your next post please provide:

* Gmer log
* Combofix.txt
* SystemLook.txt

Kind regards,

I had another problem with GMER, then when I clicked on start to restart, my computer froze.

I'm going to try GMER once again.

This may help you run Gmer...

Click "start" on the taskbar and then click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Please doubleclick the "Add or Remove Programs" icon
A list of programs installed will be "populated" this may take a bit of time.
If they exist, uninstall the following by clicking on the following entries and selecting "remove":

Spybot

Additional instructions can be found here if needed.

==========

Please download DeFogger to your desktop.

Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

==========

Give that a try then post when ready.

Thanks,
