OK so I'm visiting my cousin and I accidentally got his laptop infected with the Desktop Defender 2010.

Now I wanted to follow the steps described here:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...p-defender-2010
to resolve the situation, but after restarting the computer I can't even start the task manager. when I hit the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete buttons, it gives me the windows vista menu of choices of what I want to do and when I select "start task manger" it just goes back to the desktop defender thing instead of the task manadter.

I'm sorry if I sound incredibly stupid or noobish, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi are you getting an error mesage? If so what does it say?
Is this 32 or 64 bit Vista?

Does it open with CTRL+SHIFT +ESC
How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
