I have a Compaq Presario 5000 PC purchased in 2000. Model# 5BW284. It has old SDRAM memory. I think I have had mismatched memory modules for about a year now. I didn't notice till I added a module and checked the box of the other module. I have 512MB of RAM in two
slots.

The pins and type match. But one stick is PC100 and the other is PC133. Will this cause a problem? I notice my PC speed seemed to have slowed down last year.

PC100 and PC133 can be safely mixed, PC133 is backward compatible...has always been so.

If you had incompatible RAM modules...the system would notice .

The PC133 being backward compatible, simply runs at PC100 module's speed.
So no problemo !
