i need help...i have been trying to get rid of the spyware on my comp, and although i've eliminated some, i've been having problems during windows startup w/ error messages saying my computer is "looking for" wintoolsa.exe, wildtangent, and tbps.exe. I have run adaware, spybot, microsoft antispyware in safe mode on my comp and when i restart normally after using those anti-spyware programs in safe mode, i have no error messages, however, when i reboot my computer again, the error messages reappear. what's your advice? please help... here is my HJT log:

Please print out or Save this page to your Desktop in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions.

Notes
Please disable Ad-Watch, as it may hinder the removal of some entries.
To disable Ad-Watch:
Right click on the Ad-Watch icon in the system tray.
At the bottom of the screen you will see 2 options, "Active" and "Automatic".
Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it.
Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically.
Uncheck both options

Boot Into Safe Mode
Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by hitting the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work.

View Hidden Files and Folders
Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is enabled. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are showing / visible. Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files option.

Stop Potentially Runnning Processes
Go into HijackThis->Config->Misc. Tools->Open process manager. Select the following and click 'Kill process' for each one if they are still listed (they shouldn't be - but double check):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\??ool32.exe
C:\Program Files\nrpn\osoa.exe

Please open Notepad, and copy/paste the code in the white box below into a new text file. Save it as FindFile.bat and save it on your Desktop.
dir C:\windows\system32\??ool32.exe /a h > files.txt
notepad files.txt
Locate FindFile.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. It will open Notepad with some text in it. Please post the text here along in your next post...

Potential Uninstallations
Click > Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs and uninstall the following programs:

WinTools - If it appears...

Viewpoint Manager - is an advertising program by Viewpoint. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's.

WeatherBug - it's adware, or has been in prior years. If you didn't install this yourself, uninstall it. If you did install it yourself, you may keep it and ignore any fixes/deletions listed below. For a safer alternative please see Here

WildTangent - This is an online gaming package that is installed by a number of third party applications and even OEMs, ISPs and AIM. The games aspect of this is really rather cool. The being installed without you asking for it isn't cool at all. They collect information about you and your usage. We recommend uninstalling it.

Start HijackThis Fix

The following is an optional fix as well, you can remove it if you like, or you could also register the game! :D either will stop it from running at startup and eating resources.

Start HijackThis Fix
Open Hijack This and click on Scan. Check the following entries (make sure you do not miss any)

O4 - Startup: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Registration.lnk = C:\Documents and Settings\Daku\Local Settings\Temp\{87309DBA-E8C4-41C5-812F-22D59EEF4A29}\{907B4640-266B-4A21-92FB-CD1A86CD0F63}\ATR1.exe

Please remember to close all other windows, including browsers then click Fix checked.

aside from that...
Congratulations Your Log is Clean!!

If you are still having trouble, please dont continue with these instructions just yet. LET ME KNOW!

Otherwise, we have a few clean up items to deal with.

1. System Restore
Now that we know your system is clean, we want to purge any potentially infected restore points. To do that, complete the following:

Turn off System Restore by Clicking Start > right-click My Computer and then click Properties. Click the System Restore tab > Check "Turn off System Restore" or "Turn off System Restore on all drives". Click Apply. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this. Click OK.

To re-enable this function - simply uncheck this same box, and click "apply" and "ok"

2. Reset Hidden Files & Folders

Go to My Computer >Tools >Folder Options >View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is UNchecked. Also make sure that the System Files and Folders are invisible. CHECK the Hide protected operating system files option.

Preventative Measures

This is a good time to set up protection against further attacks. Read How Did I Get Infected In The First Place?.

Also Consider...
 • SpywareBlaster to help prevent spyware from installing in the first place.
 • SpywareGuard to catch and block spyware before it can execute.
 • IESpy-Ad to block access to malicious websites so you cannot be redirected to them from an infected site or email.
You should also have a good firewall. Here are 3 free ones available for personal use:How is she running now? Any further problems? If not, Good work, and Happy Computing!

Please reply once more so we know you have read these measures.
If I've helped you in any way, please consider a donation to help me continue the fight: Posted Image
