I would uninstall the current version...then reinstall from http://www.java.com/en/download/.

sorry did this one -deleted all java sets and cleaned out all java bits -something is blocking updates or any new java to be loaded in ......

I would try running the chkdsk /r command...and then try to install the current Java version.

CHKDSK Utility - http://www.hard-drive-help.com/chkdsk.html, see Starting Check Disk.

thank you for the help ! its working again the registry was crapped-clean up was needed too ..i think this was the main trouble !
