I am new to this site. My daughter had awesome help withsome NASTY malware. My problem is not that bad but it is every bit as annoying. I have an HP 1315psi printer that will no longer scan on my home computer. It works fine on my laptop so it has to be something wrong in my desktop.

I have a copy of chat session with the HP support people and they couldn't fix it. The error messages that are popping up when I try to scan are 1. HP Toolbox FX encountered an error and cannot recover. It also says, HPTLBXFX.exe common Language Runtime Debugging Services app has generated an exception that will not be handled Processid=0x728 (1832), Thread id+0x72c(1836) AND the file 'hpqgends.tmp' on hp cd is needed. Unfortunately, I have looked everywhere and cannot find the original cd that came with the printer. I have, however, downloaded the program and reinstalled it. The problem was not solved. I am at my wits end.

Can you help?

When you reinstalled the software, did you totally uninstall and remove the printer and then start over??
Remember with a USB connection, you install the software before attaching the printer

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
