Hi all ..I have finally registered here because I have a problem that I haven't been able to fix on my own just by reading the forums and great advice and procedures offered here.
I am a musician who has become a semi-geek for the purposes of setting up and maintaining a DAW. I built the pc I am using for my audio workstation because I couldn't afford to buy what I wanted and I am really happy with the stability and capabilities of it.
My "downfall" has been that I haven't been able to restrict the use of my DAW to studio work only, having been advised to keep the workstation off the net as much as possible ! So, I have had the experience of "acquiring" the conficker virus many months ago, which virus kicked my pc's ass and I had to start with totally reformatted disks , clean os install, and reloading all my audio apps..not fun.
Now not so bad as that, but I need help. That's for another post ! hi again
