The Cat did it. Stepped on the compaq laptop keyboard -now I can not turn off the scroll/numbers lock key. I have tried several restarts and escape keys etc. I have to use another username on the laptop as only mine has been affected with the locked key. Sounds simple but is a terrible nightmare of numbers and symbols along with letters. Windows XP Media center. presario vista compatible 2006? compaq
sorry if this is in the wrong forum-but it is not internal or external ?
Thank you for your patience -yes you may laugh now as I am clueless. Zigida

More likely than not, the Numlock key is damaged or stuck
You can try lifting up/removing the key, but you need to be careful
I'll look for directions. Someone else might also post them

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
