Hi there and thanks in advance for any help I may receive. I have been getting constant errors in my event viewer, which I look at after my computer does any or all of the following: Freezes at random, loses internet and sometimes BSOD, (although I have not received a BSOD since reinstalling my OS a few weeks ago).
Here is some basic info on my computer and I apologize in advance if I do not give the proper info beforehand. I thought I would wait and give the needed info when asked to do so. Also, I tried to run Root Repeal but got an error message saying it does not support 64 bit OS. Here are a few examples of errors I get but there are many more.

The Windows component could not be configured because of an error: 1168 "Element not found." (Command line: ""C:\Windows\System32\ocsetup.exe" MicrosoftWindowsPowerShell /norestart /quiet")
Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.
The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period.
The event logging service encountered an error while processing an incoming event published from Microsoft-Windows-Security-Auditing.
The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period.(a lot of these).

Windows Vista Home Premium SP2
HP IQ526
Intel Core Duo CPU T6600@2.20GHz processor
4.00 GB Memory
64-bit OS
I use RoadRunner Turbo wired connectivity.
I ran HiJack This and have a log but decided to wait until asked for it. Any help would be appreciated. My wife has the same exact computer as I do, we bought them on the same day and altho her event log does show some of the same errors mine does, she has none of the problems I do. Her comp doesnt freeze up, shes stays connected, no Limited IPV6 showing up and we both play World of Warcraft. As I type this in fact Im getting lag and not sure why, its like something is running the the background and with each letter I type the round blue loading doughnut shows up at my cursor. I have also read somewhere that I might have a PW protected screen saver running in the backgroud but I have never initiated a pw protected screensaver, in fact I keep it checked at "none" on display properties. Did I get a bad computer? As you can probably guess, I talk to HP and they tell me its internets fault, I talk to my ISP and they tell me its my software, "vista64". I cant rely on their answers because as I stated my wifes computer is fine. Thank you again.

Here is my DDS log:

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE
