I am here following a week of attempting to remove some fake anti-virus garbage and need help. I came across this site while seeking help from another useful site. Hope to learn from this experience. Happy New Year to all.

Thanks for the welcome, Rigel. I understand you have some great people here. That is why I posted under HijackThis. So far I have not received any response.
I was hoping to get help to get things cleaned up but I understand it being a holiday time of year. Maybe you could help me. I am looking at having to do a System Restore and I can not backup at this time nor can I do a System Recovery to an earlier time as the virus blocks me everytime.

I cannot help you in the HJT forum - only trained HJT techs can help there. The wait may be up to two weeks - it's just that busy. If you like, we can take a look in the Am I Infected forum. Just post about the problems you are having and we will be glad to help. Just let me know what you would like to do and I will help out with the process.
