About a week ago I booted up my computer one morning and when I did my desktop icons (all of them) were missing from the normal desktop. I can right click and the normal menu comes up, but left-clicking does nothing.

I can get to some of the icons by going to Run in the start menu and opening the desktop folder there, but the desktop itself shows nothing but the background. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check if your "Show Desktop Icons" was Checked?

To Check, Right click on your Desktop and go to Arrange Icons By, then see if there is a check mark next to "Show Desktop Icons"

If there is, uncheck it....

Wow... that was incredibly simple. Comcast tech support is completely worthless.
