SMART Failure Predict on Hard Disk 4

My computer just recently got hacked/destroyed its a

Hewlette Packard (HP) dv6000

i tried to reformat... the re-format worked fine until about 4 hours later then it rebooted itself and gave me the following message:

S.M.A.R.T Failure Predicted on Hard Disk 4: WDC WD1600BEUS-60RST0-(S1)

WARNING: Immediately backup all your files on the hard-drive and replace it. Failure may be immenant

Press F1 to continue

WELL!! F1 doesn't work and my computer wont boot to windows ... i even went into the Bios and did the Self test to primary hard drive and the result keeps tellin me

Test Results: #1008-Replace Hard drive

is there something i can do to "fix" this problem .. or do i seriously have to buy a new hard-drive :thumbsup:

Any and all help is definately appreciated thank you

You need a new hard drive. Not much "help" for you.

I am a retired Ford tech. Next to Fords, any computer is a piece of cake. (The cake, its not a lie)

At the chance of sounding like a broken record the smart test is designed to forwarn you of iminent HDD failure if you cant log in now its already dead. It might be possible to slave it on another system to get important or irreplaceable files off.
