I cut and paste emoticons into my web log. I use Windows 2000 OS.

My dad reads my web log on an XP and says he get only the empty square with the little red x.

I looked at my posted web site from an XP computer and had the same result.

Why does the image show up when I use my computer to get to the web site but not when I use the XP computer? Is there a setting I can adjust (and suggest other readers adjust) to allow the images to appear?

ps I'll supply the web site address if it will help.

Are you posting the files as 32 bit or 8 bit?

Look up where you can choose options like

8 bit palleted
32 bit CMYK

save as 8 bit and see if that makes it visable on your web site.
