I am trying to setup my laptop to view DVDs on my TV. I followed this route: control panel-> display-> settings-> advanced. The only tabs I have under advanced are general, adapter, monitor, troubleshoot, and options. There are no tabs letting me change the display to TV. Is there another way to access the Catalyst Control Center? I have a Dell Latitude D600 Windows XP and my video card is Radeon 9000.

What kind of cable/converter are you using to connect it to the TV? What kind of input options does the TV offer?

Can you also post a screenshot of the Display Properties(Settings)?

And you should be able to see the ATI icon in the notifications area (bottom-right), used to access the Catalyst Control Centre.

I have a SVideo cable and audio cord. I can hear the audio on my TV but no video. The other option I have is the yellow/white/red A/V cord. The ATI icon is not shown. I feel like I have seen it before but those icons seem to come and go at their own will...

Looks like the S-Video cable is your only option for now.

Are you sure you have the ATI driver installed, the latest one at that?

You could also try holding Fn+F8 to switch between display modes.

This is a refurbished laptop I have had for about 18 months. How do I know if the driver is installed? When do I hold Fn+F8? It didn't do anything so I'm not sure when I should try that.

I followed this route: control panel-> display-> settings-> advanced. The only tabs I have under advanced are general, adapter, monitor, troubleshoot, and options.

If you are unable to see the ATI CCC tab there, chances are you don't have the driver installed.

Dowload and Install from here : Radeon 9000 - WinXP

Restart your PC after installing the driver and see if you can access ATI's CCC.

Thank you, that seems to have taken care of the problem. I have found that I need to get a 7 to 4 pin converter, I will soon find out. Thank you again for your help!
