I have the Privacy Center infection, blocks me out unless I ante up. (Apparantly very common Rogue Security hustle, I know yall've heard of it). I'm getting around it w/ ctrl alt-del to Task Manager & on to Firefox startup from there. (And for shutdown). So I checked out Bleepcom's proceedure for getting rid of it w/ Malwarebytes' Anti - Malware. Haven't initiated it yet because they say I will need to open the d'load from my desktop.
PROBLEM IS, I can't access Desktop because I'm blocked off from it! I can see my background pic but no icons (behind privacy center window). What to do? This may be an obvious problem that my limited comp. experience can't grasp, but it seems like the necessary 1st step toward solving this problem. Of course any other suggestions are also welcome.

Thanks Much, Steve

If you can access Task Manager, end all tasks in the Applications window
Then start a new task and type explorer.exe
That should bring up your Desktop

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
