I have a computer with windows xp that became infected with a reroute virus. I used the combofix download to get rid of the virus but once it was applied I no longer had access to my desktop icons (they have disappeared) as well as some of my disc cleanup capabilities. In order to access any of my programs I now have to hit con-alt-del to bring up task launcher. What went wrong?

Have you uninstalled Combofix?

  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /Uninstall in the runbox and click OK

  • Note: There's a space between Combofix and /
