task manager problem

ok here is the thing. ive found that i have tons of spyware and adware/viruses, removed them, cleanecd everything up, but this last thing. when i open task manager or msconfi or regedit, they open for like 2 seconds, then close. cant find the problem, and ever interent board doesnt have the solution. ive researched extensively. any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This sounds suspiciously like there are still some virus lurking. Run online scans at a couple of these sites:

Trendmicro Housecall
CA eTrust

If those online scans don't help it may be a matter of damage done to those native windose apps by the infection. If you're running XP, go to this page: Kelly's XP Corner, where you should be able to find some reg files and/or scripts to repair/restore all of those apps you mentioned. Some you can even reinstall.

If you're not using XP, do a Google for Doug Knox. He has similar fixes available.
