I wonder if someone could help me please.

My husband is having major problems with his computer as detailed below:-

- Mcafee won't open or run a scan.

- IE or FF is shut down if anything is typed in Google/Yahoo regarding scans, Mcafee, Norton, spyware, viruses etc.

- Searches get diverted to other sites.

- Unable to run Hijack This.

Using my laptop he downloaded a rescue disc from Kaspersky and burnt it to CD, he then ran a virus scan which appeared to clean (deleted) a few trojans from his computer. Unfortunately he didn't write the names or amounts of the trojans down.

He also downloaded Spybot and Adaware to a flash drive and ran both of them on his computer, they both removed a few trojans, again he didn't write the names or amounts down.

Has his computer got viruses/spyware deeply inbedded in it, if so, what else can we do to try and get the computer running okay again?

Thanks in advance.

Best wishes
