Ok, so a friend of mine has a pc that was bought of off ebay and apparantly doesn't have a genuine copy of XP installed (surprise, surprise), anyway, I told him not to bother to try and install WMP11 cause it probably won't pass validation. Well, he downloaded it anyway and of course it didn't pass.

I tried to rollback to WMP10 and it says it's rollbacked, but it's not. So I tried to manually remove WMP from Program Files, but it wouldn't let me, it said some .dll file was still in use. So I went into safe mode and was able to remove the WMP file and then was also able to get rid of WMP 11 from the ADD/REMOVE list.

I then went back into regular mode and downloaded and ran WMP 10, but it still says that there is a newer version present and it won't finish installation.

Can anyone tell me how i can get WMPP10 back up and running for him? I was also just thinking about downloading WinAmp possibly.

Well, i never did figure it out, so actually got him to install a genuine copy of XP so he doesn't have to worry about not getting updates and stuff.
