I am used to working with flash so please forgive my ignorance - I want to create an html version of my flash site, the site has been created using tables so that the content will be displayed in the centre of the browser, and simply put, this table is split in two, one side is an image, and the other side is text, now I would like to be able to create a scrollable area in that right hand side (as there is often more text than that space will allow, the only way that I know (from my basic dreamweaver) is to insert a layer, but this will not work with my tables (which are not absolutely positioned and move according to how big the browser is, ideally I need something compatable with all browser/platforms, and will not distort my table layout, and I would like to be able to customise the scroll handles as well if possible

Here is an idea of what I am after:

Any pointers much appreciated

This can be accomplished by using the <iframe> tag. This creates a "floating" frame within your document.

Here's a generic example. You would insert this where the scrollable text would go in your table.

<iframe src="text1.htm" name="textbox" width="200px" height="100px">

You can also do this by specifying the height and width of the table via css then put the table in a div with a center align.
