I bought Halo 2 several months ago not knowing, at the time, it could not be played on XP. Now, I'm told it can. legaly, with patches. Problem is that the only fixes I see on the net are for illegal downloads. Does anyone know how I can play my bought and paid for Halo 2 disk on my XP system, as I sternly don't want Vista?
I realise, by google dates of patches, this is an old topic but my wife and I had just got into this Halo thing and just finished Halo 1.

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

It was a bit risky, but a couple of .dll's and wowloader .02 made my Halo 2 disk work perfect on my XP. Just don't screw up the MF.dll and the mf.dll.

Thank you. The wowloader and yes, a couple of mf.dlls worked like a charm. I'm already stuck at "Gravemind". It says to insert my disk and i do with no luck. I've been playing it signed into wondows live and still no luck getting past the "Gravemind" problem and I bought my Halo 2 disk so I'm good there. I just can't get it to load the Gravemind level.
Any suggestions??

I would of got back to this sooner but, the wife is still in the hospital. So my plate is full at the moment. Again, thank you.
