Hi, I am going to apologize in advance if there are any typos because one of my cats is curled up on my lap and not giving me much room to type on my laptop LOL.

I've been thinking of investing in a new laptop, well actually I'm set on getting a new one. I have a Dell Latitude D610 and its time to retire it.

My budget for the new computer is: $550

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? Email, internet, gaming, downloading movies and watching them (sometimes I connect the laptop to my TV to watch movies)

What software do you intend on using on the computer? DVD/CD burning programs, ConvertXToDvd, games

Do you play games? Yes. If so, what type of games? Sims 3

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? I do tend to have a few running at the same time like having 2-3 web pages open while downloading a file or converting an avi file to dvd.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? No

If I missed something I'm sorry. My cat is zonked and purring away.

For around $600, you could get a customized Dell Inspiron 15".

And a lot more options: Newegg - Notebooks
