Hi. I'm getting a strange error message when I try to download programs off the Net. I usually save the programs to my hard drive first, so that I can scan them with my anti-virus program before I install them.

But tonight when I was trying to download Azureus, this is the error message I got:

"C:\Documents and Settings\Michelle\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\UHW7Y9SI\jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p.exe[1].torrent --- Invalid menu handle."

Does anyone know what this means? I'd really appreciate any help!

Are you working with p2p? If so, you may need to check that program. If not, try to download again.

When I have gotten the Invalid menu handle when downloading it has got to do with some kind of problem with the program the file extension is associated with, in your case it would be whatever bit-torrent program your using. I solved it by uninstalling, and installing the program in question.

EDIT: Rereading your post it looks like you got a torrent (which you need Azureus to use) of the Java JRE, which you need to install before you can install Azureus. Exactly what have you downloaded and what are you trying to download?
