Hello there,

As of two days ago, our family's computer has been plagued by online search results (google, etc.) being redirected to spurious web sites.

This occurs in both IE8 and Firefox.

One thing I have noticed in either browser is that if I open the link in a new tab, the new tab reaches the intended page.

I have read around a bit (I'm currently typing this post on an ancient mac) and it would seem that this type of exploit/infection comes in many variations, so I've come here, to the experts for advice as to how to proceed.

Thanks so much in advance.

Best Regards!
