Lately, I've been experiencing an infection involving search engine redirection.
For a long time, I've been unable to access my Catalyst Control Center graphics drivers, and was unable to open the Steam interface.
This went unrecognized until recently my google results redirected me to searchfindsite.com results.
Another foolish decision was that i had no anti-virus/malware software whatsoever. Kaspersky found my computer quite clean besides some windows\system32(\drivers) files that, when deleted and restarted will appear again shortly after the reboot.
I've found a pattern with the detected file names to begin with gasfky[...].sys
Service Name: gasfkyrmpfuiri
Image Path: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\gasfkynsvrxtit.sys" -RootRepeal
Since some Kaspersky cleaning, CCC and steam problems were solved right away. The only remaining problem is the redirection.
From what i know, the problem is in the \system32 folder and possibly (maybe due to those) in the temporary folder.
I can easily produce logs from whatever software needed, thanks in advance
