Can't access the internet after re-formatting hard drive

When I type "ipconfig" I get only the message "Windows IP Configuration" no IP address or any thing else. Am I missing a driver or what?

Thanks in advance for your help. My 14 year-old is Jonesing for his gaming. :thumbsup:

Have you checked your hosts file C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc if you think something looks suspicious reset it using this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972034
