FPS all the way!!

I voted for RPGs, though I prefer strategy games, a category ommitted.
The poll also confuses the genre with the method. You can, for example, play many categories of games on a console or on-line or on a computer.

In what genre would one place WOW for example. It has elements of FPS, RP, adventure, and strategy. Anyone playing on aggramar server look for Klamm or Klammtu and say hello!

John

I vote FPS

But I also like to play some RTS, for example, Rome: Total War is an awsome game.

I gotta go with free roam (although i'm a little sketchy on the classification.....)

Does Free Roam only include stuff like GTA and Spiderman 2? Or is Jak and Daxter 3 and something like "megaman legends" (if you've ever played it, i'll give you a cookie..) included?

Free Roam just usually has so much to see and do that it's rare for me to get bored after a short time. Other than that, my vote would go to FPS's.....

Oh, and there are so many other genres you could've put. Fighting, racing (or sports), beat 'em ups, etc.... But yeah, space was limited... oh well

What about strategy games? What are you, an XBox player?
Nothing beats strategy games, but I'll vote for RPG then.

I have to go with FPS since strategy is missing, although as a PC gamer I would have put strategy before several of the genres you got, but I guess they make sense from a console point of view.

I wouldn't say WOW is that hard to place, it's either an RPG or MMORPG depending on whether you consider the latter a separate genre. It has elements from other genres, most games do, but hardly enough to confuse the issue.

I was forced to vote platform for several reasons (assuming it means console, cuz thats what I thought):

1: I've owned consoles much, much longer than I've had a computer running greater than an onboard graphics card.

2: I like a wide variety, though I own mor FPS's than anything else. I love a good, 3rd person flight sim when I can find one. RPGs and Adventure games also (currently playing Fable).

3: I'm not good at grouping things

I went with FreeRoam, going by the definition used by "Heretic Monkey." My mind has gone blank on the meanings. I think I have been chasing too much MALWARE! I need to take a break and spend some time with the dozens of games I own.

Good topic, it really made me think about something else for the moment.

I also like chess, which I posted a link, before finding this topic, to a excellent freeware program in the game forum.
