I stopped all those processes (winntR1, winntR2, winnt2, winnt4, winnt5, winnt7) in msconfig, and ran a bunch of scans:

Malwarebytes' Antimalware: Nothing found.
SUPERAntiSpyware: Adware Tracking Cookies (7)
Norman Malware Cleaner: Nothing found.
Spyware Doctor: Trogan-Downloader.Banload; Trogan-Generic (303 infections!); Application.TrackingCookies (16); Adware Advertising (1)

I need to purchase Spyware Doctor to remove the found trogans, I'm going to go ahead and do this? It's the only program that found anything on my computer... it must be good?

Currently running Kaspersky (trial version) full scan. I'll post updates and a new HijackThis log after that is completed, so when someone has a chance, hopefully we'll be ahead of the game a little.

Think Kaspersky is a good antivirus/antispyware program to purchase and use form now on to prevent this from happening again? Seems popular on this site, and I'll love it if it cleans my system.

Thanks!

Am I doing something wrong? Is this why no one is interested in helping me out in my situation?

Anyways, Kaspersky completed the scan and found nothing. It's weird... all I did was disable winntR1.exe, winntR2.exe, winnt2.exe, winnt4.exe, winnt5.exe & winnt7.exe in msconfig>startup, and my problem is gone. A bunch of antispyware, antimalware & antivirus software found nothing or next to nothing except for Spyware Doctor that now wants me to purchase it's software to remove the Trojans.

I even found the infamous "c:\winnt_" folder that is associated with these Trojans, and it was empty. I thought it was suppose to contain the above mentioned executible files? I deleted it anyways, and had no problems doing so.

I ran another HijackThis scan, and here is the log:

Title was: Slow computer /w trojens & cannot write to Hosts file, DDS log included. ~ OB

Intel Q9550 processor with 6MB DDR3 ram, that is running way to slow. There is not much in the Hosts file, but I'll post is anyways:

Hosts file:
127.0.0.1 localhost
::1 localhost

Here is my DDS file, and I've attached the Attach file. Thank you very much to anyone that can help over the holidays.

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE
regards,
schrauber
