Got a crazy virus on my main computer that somehow bypassed my Virus Protection/Spyware. I was browsing the internet, and all of a sudden all my applications closed, and my desktop background went from a beautiful picture of Sofia Vergara to neon Green background that said "YOUR SYSTEM IS INFECTED!".

My first idea was to turn off and reboot in safe mode, and re-install windows, which I wanted to anyways... but when I tried safe mode, it just gave me the blue screen of death, which I was told meant my Hard Drive was fried and that I need a new one.
---the STOP Code on blue screen was - 0x0000007E-- and then a few others after it.

So I bought a new WesternDigital HD, but now I can't find my Boot disc to get me out of computer [bleep]... was thinking of grabbing a copy of windows7, but wasnt sure which version, or whether I need full or, upgrade disc. Not really sure what to do, as I'm not that technical with computers... any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a Dell XPS400 desktop running Windows XP SP2
