Ok I have a HP DVD 740 RW drive. I can write to CD-R no problems. However when I put in a blank DVD+RW, my puter does not even know there is a disk in the drive. When I try to write I keep getting the POP UP please3 insert disk.

Any clue what might be wrong like something in the properties settings?

I use either Sony of Fujifilm. CD's are Sony, and DVD's are Fujifilm

IF you have a HP740B DVD-RW drive I would take a look here.

It seems like HP has made updates to the drive firmware. Specifically "•Adds support for additional DVD-R and DVD+RW media"

If you DO NOT have a 740 B DO NOT use this firmware update.
