Two empty files per minute are being created in my Windows\Temp folder i.e, Win1.tmp, Win2,tmp, etc. I have been deleting thousands of them and can not find what program is generating them. I cannot boot in safe mode for some reason, I get a blue screen saying something about IRQL not equal to something. I have enabled boot logging but can't find boot log file and have installed and ran hijack this but don't understand it.

Your system is most likely infected.
At this point you have 2 options:

1) Post in Am I Infected? http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/
A malware removal expert will let you know what scans you need to run.
If you choose this option, DO NOT POST YOUR HJT LOG IN AII. If a HJT log is needed,
your helper will let you know. By posting here, you receive help quicker than Option 2. Many times an infection can be cleaned without the use of HJT.

2) Post your HJT log. First though, Read and follow the instructions HERE:Preparation Guide For Use Before Using HijackThis and other Malware Removal Tools, Instructions for receiving help in cleaning your computer
After you post the logs Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

Whatever option you use, please go to Bleeping Computer Tidiness, post the link to this topic and request that it be closed. It's easier for you and your helper to keep everything in one place.
