Sorry if this was discussed before, I did not find between the topics.

I have two Laptops with Japanese XP. home sp3. A NEC La Vie and a brand new Acer Aspire One 10'1.
I did all the steps in the Control Panel/International and Regional settings, but finally I was prompted to insert the XP Installation Disc, what I do not have, did not came with the machines as well.
The NEC, for example have the 'Nec Restore' in a separate partition, but in the Bios it is not such a feature to boot from there, even from a USB as well.
I heard that it can be changed once and only to US English, what would be absolutely perfect for me.
I called the NEC and ACER Support, but I couldn't find one person who speaks English, only Japanese.

With my Mac it did take 3 minuts, and became from Japanese a totally US English machine, but I need Windows as well for my applications. It is sad that is so difficult in Windows (XP) the default language change (without installation disc).

If someone may have a smart solution, I would be pleased.
Thank you.

Thank you Mark. I've tried but I run Japanese op. system.
This is what they say:

" Overview
The Japanese Language Pack is designed to work with the Office XP Tool: Global IME (Japanese) download and is only required if you are not running Microsoft Windows 2000 AND you are not running a Japanese language version of the operating system. You do not need to download the Japanese Language Pack if any of the following are true:

* you are running Windows 2000
* you are running a Japanese language version of the operating system
* you are not installing the Global IME (Japanese) tool
The Japanese Language Pack installs Japanese language support files for the operating system. etc etc"
I need the opposite way.

Louis
Also thank you for your answer as well.
