Hi scroobie

I am assuming that your burner will actually burn DVDs and is not just a CD burner.

The easiest way is to use a program such as IMGBURN. Try using the top right option (Burn Files/Folders to Disk).

IMGBURN is an excellent program which will suggest anything you happen to miss out which makes it very easy to use.

Let us know how you get on and come back if you have a problem.

Put a known good DVD burner in the system and recheck. You are at that point I think.

Hi scroobie.

What exactly are you trying to burn? The log shows something is Write Protected so you may be trying to burn copyrighted material and BC rules do not allow us to help you with that.

It may be necessary to go to MODE and choose BUILD. This will make an .ISO file which will be stored on your hard drive. Then choose MODE/WRITE, and burn the .iso to DVD.

Hmm

You've got me I'm afraid. I've found IMGBURN to be excellent and never had a problem with it.

I can only suggest you try another blank DVD and if that fails, try doing the job on another computer to see if there is a fault in your burner. They are pretty cheap these days.

What speed are your burning the discs at? Try lower speeds with good quality media.
It's always recommended to burn discs at moderate speeds to ensure longevity of the writer.

I've personally burnt(written) plenty of ISOs into CDs and DVDs using Nero Burning Rom.

'Power Calibration Error' is usually a sign of the burner's failing laser. Time to get a new one I guess.

Have you tried at 2X as well?
I'm guessing you have used this burner for sometime now?
Probably time to change it.

Note that burners can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two.
Get a LG, NEC or Pioneer dvd burner next time round.

My LG lasted for 6 years(or was it 7?) lol.
LG seem to be good , go with them.

Have you looked on Google for : Failed to Write Sectors 0 - 31 - Reason: Write Error.
Comes up with a few results. Don't feel like going into them but (slow internet).
