ok.

PC-cillion won't finish loading

Is thats the problem? I would try uninstalling it via the add/remove programs panel, reboot computer then try reinstalling it. See what that does.

I can't. When I try to remove it I get a message saying it is running and can not be removed. There is no way to shut it off since it is still trying to load, but not truly "on".

ok so you dont see a icon by the system tray?

Go to start.run and type in services.msc
click ok or enter
Under the name column look for anything that has Trend Micro in the name.

Trend Micro Central Control Component (PcCtlCom) - Trend Micro Inc. - C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\PcCtlCom.exe
Trend Micro Real-time Service (Tmntsrv) - Trend Micro Inc. - C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\Tmntsrv.exe
Service: Trend Micro Proxy Service (tmproxy) - Trend Micro Inc. - C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\tmproxy.exe

right click on each entry and select properties,

make sure that the service status is: started, if not click the Start button

and the Startup type is: Automatic, if its not change it.
click apply, then ok, reboot machine.

that should be close, cant check iam in linux right now. See if that does anything. I can post better directions when I am in Windows if needed.

ok, Well you could visit the Trend Micro website and try to find a solution. did you just recently install it or have you had it for awhile. I ask because its possible for malware to keep security type software from starting up. Getting anything like pop ups or web page re-directs? You can update and run Spybot ok?

Spybot runs fine. I believe it is a malware. It runs a little slow and not having any virus protection worries me. Thanks for the advice. I'll try Trend.
