Hi. My 4 year old was playing a game on the computer and when I signed off, I had new icons of nudie pics. I then started getting a message that Google set up exe had a problem. We had downloaded a anti-virus program previously that seemed to work (Super Anti-spyware) but after this problem started, it would not run. We now keep getting messages from Anti-Malware 1)computer is beeing (that's the way the message spells it) accessedfrom a remote location 2)Email-Worm.Win32.NetSky.q 3)Trojan-Downloader.JS.Multi.ca 4)Virun.Win32.Gpcode.ak 5)Backdoor.Win32.kbot.al 6)Net-Work.Win32.mytob.t. My brother came over and made sure we had deleted all google programs and he tried to delete this anti-malware and tried to get malware (bytes)(I think that's what he said) from your site, but he said that something was blocking it from running and that I needed to post that to your site. Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows XP

Thank you Orange Blossom.

OK We need to do a few things. The Super Anti-spyware (SAS) is NOT an antivirus but an Antimalware like Malwarebytes ( we will use later). They are great tools to use in conjunction with an Antivirus. Enough for now we need to clean.
Please post your SAS log...
To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log.
A text file will open in your default text editor.
Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
Click Close to exit the program.

Next run MBAM (MalwareBytes):

NOTE: Before saving MBAM please rename it to zztoy.exe....now save it to your desktop.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.

alternate download link

MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.
  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet.
  • Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings.
  • When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:
    • Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    • Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Then click Finish.
MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue.
  • If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.
On the Scanner tab:
  • Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Then click on the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
  • Exit MBAM when done.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

I take it then that there is no A/V installed... If that's the case install.update and scan with Antivir

Well. I didn't know it, but my husband had removed the SAS from computer since it wouldn't let us run it. We have tried several times to d/l malwarebytes and if it loads, it will not run. I think the Anti-Malware thing may be preventing it. I don't know where the anti-malware came from , but it seems to be the root of the problem, maybe. Even when we delete it from computer, it won't go away. Any other suggestions? I appreciate your h elp.

RKill....

Please download Rkill by Grinler and save it to your desktop.Link 2
Link 3
Link 4
  • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
  • If using Vista, right-click on it and Run As Administrator.
  • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
  • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
  • If it does not work, repeat the process and attempt to use one of the remaining links until the tool runs.
  • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.
You will need to run the application again if rebooting the computer occurs along the way.

We did get SAS back on computer and my husband deleted several programs, but the computer is still not right. It keeps freezing up and we are still getting messages. I will run the program you said and then will have to download mbam and run it. I have been unable to successfully get it on computer and have been totally unable to run it. I'll let you know. Thank you for helping me.

Alright. The Rkill did fine. I tried to d/l mbam and it lets me get through all of the "I agree" stuff and then goes green about 3/4 through the line and then stops. I tried several times. I guess I should tell you that I am not that great on a computer (maybe you can tell, huh?), but I am pretty sure I am downloading it right, it just won't complete.

Yes install it ...It only takes about 20 minutes to be infected on the web without an A/V. Run the scan too and post that log.

Try this for MBAM.
1. Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
2. Restart your computer (very important).
3. Download and run this utility. Mbam clean
4. It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
5. After the computer restarts, install the latest version from here. http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php
Note: You will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent.
Note: If using Free version, ignore the part about putting in your license key and activating.
Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration.
Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray and run a Quick Scan and post that log.

I have tried to download the Norman, could not get it to work from desktop, so I stayed on their site and hit run, instead of save and it worked. I ran it 3 times. I am going to try and give you the whole first and results from last scans. I will, in the meantime download the Antivir and delete mbam and try to reinstall.

Update. The Antivir downloaded and is an icon on my desktop, but it won't open or run. We ran the mbam clean (I guess it ran-it did something and then told us to reboot.) We then tried several more times to d/l mbam, but it gets to that almost done point and freezes up. After that, it took us several more reboots to get back to desktop and onto internet. Also, the mbam is still on my desktop, but we could not find it in control panel. Strange, huh? Anyway, I will try the clean and to load mbam again and will otherwise, wait for further instructions. Again, I really, really appreciate this.

Ok good move. If you still have MBAM trouble.. then run SAS. Actually run it either way. It is stronger in Safe Mode. I am posting Safe mode instructions.. If Safe fails, let me know and run from normal. We are making progress.

Please download and scan with SUPERAntiSpyware Free
  • Double-click SUPERAntiSypware.exe and use the default settings for installation.
  • An icon will be created on your desktop. Double-click that icon to launch the program.
  • If it will not start, go to Start > All Prgrams > SUPERAntiSpyware and click on Alternate Start.
  • If asked to update the program definitions, click "Yes". If not, update the definitions before scanning by selecting "Check for Updates". (If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here. Double-click on the hyperlink for Download Installer and save SASDEFINITIONS.EXE to your desktop. Then double-click on SASDEFINITIONS.EXE to install the definitions.)
  • In the Main Menu, click the Preferences... button.
  • Click the "General and Startup" tab, and under Start-up Options, make sure "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" box is unchecked.
  • Click the "Scanning Control" tab, and under Scanner Options, make sure the following are checked (leave all others unchecked):
    • Close browsers before scanning.
    • Scan for tracking cookies.
    • Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
  • Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen and exit the program.
  • Do not run a scan just yet.
Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode" using the F8 method. To do this, restart your computer and after hearing your computer beep once during startup (but before the Windows icon appears) press the F8 key repeatedly. A menu will appear with several options. Use the arrow keys to navigate and select the option to run Windows in "Safe Mode".

Scan with SUPERAntiSpyware as follows:
  • Launch the program and back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
  • On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
  • On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan and click "Next".
  • After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
  • Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
  • A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
  • If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes" and reboot normally.
  • To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
    • Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
    • Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
    • If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
    • Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply.
  • Click Close to exit the program.

Ok this is good. How is it running now.
Let's check some things.
Go into Control Panel>Add Remove Programs. Be sure the 'Show Updates' box is checked. Go down the list and tell me what Java applications are installed and their version. (Highlight the program to see this).

Now do an Online scan.
I'd like us to scan your machine with ESET OnlineScan
  • Hold down Control and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
    ESET OnlineScan
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
    • Click on Posted Image to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
    • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  • Check Posted Image
  • Push the Start button.
  • ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  • When the scan completes, push Posted Image
  • Push Posted Image, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Push Posted Image
