Hi,

Helping out a friend who cant open attactments via IE8 only in their hotmail account but can open them in firefox without issues.

This issue is happening on two seperate computers which seems strange how can they both get infected / or something like that.

System one running vista 32bit OS & System two running Xp pro 32 OS.

Each time they click the attachment they get a meesage in the dialog box saying view.atdmt.com.

Which its happenig for all types of files PDF, DOC etc.

Ran malwarebytes,ad aware, SAS and spybot and found no trace of anything.

Cant seem to find what the issue is.

Cheers,

Just a thought, do you have the 'Pop-Up Blocker' feature enabled in IE 8?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and sorry about our delay.

Pop-Up Blocker is enabled in IE8.

Help needed to get on top of this we think this may have come about after maybe a windows update if this helps.

Cheers,

Disable the Pop-Up blocker and try opening the attachments again.

Try saving the attachments to the PC instead of trying to open them from the mail.

Right-click the file and select Save to.

Sorry, can't think of anything else.

Obvious suggestion would be to use a different browser.

Hey!

Sorry for not having looked up "view.atdmt.com" earlier.

Looks like it is a well-known spyware.

So you need a good anti-spyware software...

But first go through this link : view.atdmt.com spyware

Hope this helps.

Can install SuperAntiSpyware or do you recommend anythig else / better.

Don't know much about registry should we be touching that.
