I'm at a total loss, I've tried to attempt everything I could find in here and still can't do anything.

The only programs I can open are my internet browsers and windows that show my folders/drives etc.

Am using XP.

I was able to download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but when I run it the window just flashes and closes. Same happens when I try to go into add/remove programs and ctrl-alt-delete doesn't pop up either. No general program runs for that matter but I believe they are the important ones. I even thought of doing a system restore, but I'm not sure how to do that and couldn't get into the part to see where I can go back to.

Any help please. Thanks

Edit: Ok, I've got this fixed tho now it's saying windows isn't active, or validated (says that in other spots)
