I have Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP3.

I've been using IE8 for a while, now. However, this began recently: When the next page loads (when going to any site), something very small appears in the task bar for half a second and disappears.

I managed to record the strange occurance and have taken a screenshot of it:

Can anyone tell me if this is malware or maybe I just need to disable a setting?

Hello,I don't believe it's malware. It was installed on your machine and looks like a setup or setiings issues. Some thing like it's running at start up.

You can either try stopping it if it is by running Process explorer. Or since I do not us it and it may be a glitch, make a post in their tech support forum. You can let us know what it is,

Use Process Explorer to see what's running at startup.

Please download and run Process Explorer v11.33
Click on File then Save As, create a log.
Copy and paste it into your next reply.
