I plan on getting a XFX Radeon HD 5770 but am concerned about the placement of the fan header on my motherboard. I have the ASRock K10N78M. It looks like it is out of the way, but I've heard video cards are a tight fit. Will the video card cover the fan header? If so, is there an adapter or something which can allow me to still use the fan header?

I dont see any problems with the header the card in question will plug in fine without blocking them. what I see is that it will block one of your PCI slots, and maybe interfere with your sata ports, but unlikly. it is going to be a tight fit being micro atx, but it should slide in there. Might I suggest using a saphire card if your going ATI though? Ive had bad experience with XFX cards in the past. granted all the ones I had issues with were NVIDIA, but ya know. :D
