Hey Colabutterfly,

As a possible solution can you reinstall Windows XP?
That may be an option. We can show you a way to back up your data, and then you can reinstall Windows XP.

This will only work of course with a Windows XP install disc

I see you posted in their forums as you were instructed. http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/CAN-T-GET-X...EM-t261052.html

If you wish to get help here you should at least ask that topic at geeks to go be closed and advise you are getting help elsewhere. Otherwise you run the risk of duplicate efforts and conflicting information and making the situation worse than it is.

I will close it ,the only reason I posted it was to show what I've done so far to fix my computer so i wouldn't repeat steps,,,Reinstalling will be my last choice,,I was hoping someone would be able to help me ,,before I had to reinstall,,,Being able to Save my C & G drive is my main concern.

As garmanma has said he has posted your issue in the staff area for more eyes to take a look. Please be patient, hopefully someone has an idea of what the issue is.

You have a few options.
-You could try booting to last known good configuration or safemode using F8
-If you have another computer (antivirus fortified with AVG or Avira) you could pull your drive out and scan it as an external to the other one.
-As someone stated earlier, you could do a reinstall, from the CD, but don't format so you keep your information

Try these and let us know.

I suggest you follow this tutorial here to back up all the files.

That way all the data would be safe.
